Crime Dogs Letter 4-18-08
Crime Dogs,
Hello Crime Dog Family! We are back up and running! We had a great first game. We lost 3-1 yet I feel our kids played a great game. We moved the ball up the field well. We made some very good crossing passes and socred a great team goal!!!! Our 3 goalies did a super job too. I am very excited for our kids as we are playing very strong teams this season. As in most cases our kids have played to the level of the team they are playing. This season we will be the team having to push our game up. This is a very good thing for all our kids. As parents I am asking you to work with each of your Crime Dogs on the skills.drills I sent you last week via e-mail. I need your help in making practices so we can work on our plays as a team.
One thing the Crime Dogs have always been no matter if it was over 10 years ago as the boys team or now with the girls aka young ladies is we play as a team. No one player is our team. Our overall strength is as a TEAM! I want to encourage you to keep that in mind this season and always. We have a fast schdule this spring and will lead us right into the Fall and the full size field. That is when the fun starts for a fast team like our Crime Dogs!
I have been working the grils hard at practices with the goal of getting them all into better shape for life both on and off the field. On Weds we work them even harder on condting. Please push you young lady to work away from the field as well. I am hoping they will tell you what I told them and that is we an not happy with a "C" effort. We want a "A" effort from all our girls. Too many times it is easy to take a short cut or accept a lesser effort and let it go. I am not that type of coach so if they say we are pushing them they are right!
For the times you can not make practices please take sometime on a Sunday and work with them on their skills and drills I sent to each player. I can see in some of our players that they are just lacking the confdnce to really move up to that next level. That comes with practice and feeling good about what they are trying to do. Keep the drills fun and you both will have a good time. The girls all know whatthe 3 "Hs" are so for the parents who do not they are 1. Heart--you have to play with your heart. Give you all for the team. 2. Head-- We want you to play smart. Use your head. Outsmart the other player, team. 3. Home--you have to practice/work on your skills at home. All three apply to soccer and life overall!
Help us out as a team and your player will grow with the team!
See you all at practice tonight and on the field come Saturday!
Life Is Good!
